We cover Navadurgas, the nine forms of Durga worshipped on each of the nine days of Navaratri. ‘Ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu’ - Devi represents ‘Shakti,’ the creative energy of all living beings as well as ‘Prakriti’, the material world that is the manifestation of divine energy. Thus, She is worshipped in innumerable forms.
The nine forms of Durga are mentioned in the Devi Mahatmya and celebrated in the Navadurga Stotram which has emerged organically. There is no specific author. The Stotram and the commentary on it by the Art of Living website are our main sources.
In previous quizzes IndiYatra has tried to capture many of these forms. We have covered the many ways in which Durga Puja is celebrated, some key Shaktipeethas (seats of Devi’s energy) and stories from Durga Saptashati.
Happy Durga Puja.
